It’s the little things

Cup of tea, Woodbury, Connecticut © Steven Willard

I watched this gentleman carefully use both hands to drink his cup of tea. Unlike me, his tremors affected both hands and it seemed to take a lot of his attention to get the cup to his mouth without spilling it. Such a small thing, drinking a cup of tea. He didn’t seem to mind, no look of frustration on his face, just the enjoyment of the tea.

How easy it is to let ourselves be distracted by things out of our control, to loose sight of what’s important for us to be happy. We should be thankful for what we can do, and enjoy the rewards, even if it’s just a cup of tea in the afternoon.

Perfectly exposed. The cup lid could have easily blown out.

  3. I have to say, I continue to be impressed with the Olympus’ metering and the quality of the jpeg rendering. I started out using the jpegs because I didn’t have the raw converter, but I’ve found the jpegs so good for what I shoot I really haven’t missed the raw.

Introspection is a really needed thing these days. Isn’t it? Fine photograph as usual but your words made the post something special.
