I’ll not get into the question of whether or not humans are the cause of global warming. It’s likely that whatever I say will have no effect on your opinion. What I will say is that so far this winter we have had very little snow, and fences like this have little to do. Just to the right of the frame the field drops down about ten feet to a country road, and this fence is intended to prevent blowing snow from piling up in drifts over the road.

This is one of my favorite locations for spending a few minutes as I drive between Woodbury and my home in Brookfield. From this ridge it’s possible to look to the east across the Shepauge River valley and to the hills that divide Roxbury and Woodbury. It’s a lovely spot, though on some days, like today, it can be windy.
