This is one of those images that probably wouldn’t have been made if it weren’t for the fact that I frequent this little nature preserve in Roxbury on a regular basis; the odds of finding just these conditions are too great. The taller unmown grass had dried to a light golden brown that reflected the light in contrast to the mown path that still shown green. The central tree happened to be in a small clearing that managed to catch more direct, if diffuse, light than the trees in the background. All that was needed was some slight of hand to emphasize what was in front of the camera.
