What’s important

Do you ever get the feeling that we, that’s the collective we, the populous of this nation, have lost sight of the things that are most important? That pride, unity and patriotism have been co-opted by big money and special interests who are afraid to put their names where their money goes? That little by little the notion of one person, one vote has been reduced to whoever has the most money has the most votes? That reasoned debates have been replaced by bombast and obfuscation and the chase of tv ad dollars? Is this what we want? Is it what we deserve? Is it anything like what the founders of this country had in mind?

Maybe it’s time we looked a little harder at what is being offered and set our sights a little higher.

Well said!! Maybe just maybe we might see some maturity injected into the political process this week. I doubt it but one can always hope.

  2. I wish I shared what passes for optimism in your comment, but I just don’t see it happening.
