It’s finally here! The cold temperatures we’ve been expecting. The clear blue sky means no clouds to hold some warmth tonight. This homeowner has wrapped his rhododendrons against the single digit cold and in preparation of the snow that will come eventually.
I too have tried to get the RV ready for the cold. I’ve insulated the windows, emptied the waste tanks, opened the cabinets to let the warm air in to keep the pipes from freezing, and I’ve been running the two electric heaters to try to “soak” some heat into the walls and floor. Right now it’s a toasty 67F in the coach but 9F outside. I have tried to warm the bay where the waste tanks empty, and right now I’m showing 26F there, but that doesn’t include the rest of the tanks, which are insulated but unseated. I’ll just have to waite and see. Luckily this cold spell is predicted to only last a few days, but it will be a good test of the systems. Wish me luck.
