Dancing in the street

Our maintainence crew has been around, drizzling hot tar on cracks in the pavement in a feeble attempt to keep this coming winter’s ice from making the cracks worse. This afternoon a fresh rain shower accentuated the patches.

I saw this bit of road repair and was reminded of the gymnastic floor excercise of dancing with ribbons; as the gymnast performs a series of floor moves, she twirls and swirls a long ribbon which is fastened to a wand she waves. It’s one of those things that must be harder than it looks, and is certainly more beautiful than my discription.

I fiddled with Brightness and Contrast sliders in Snapseed, and this is the result, and yes, Wally saw it first.
