The perfect neighbor

Funny how we don’t always pay attention to our neighbors as we should. We give them a passing nod, and a glance, but not much more.

I live in a condominium community and virtually all of our outdoor maintenance is handled by professionals, so it’s easy to become complacent about our taller neighbors, the trees. But lately, that’s been hard to do as the tree service people have been very busy lopping errant limbs, and downing sick trees, as well as trees that have become a danger to structures.

Our unit was one of the ones to have a couple of pine trees taken down because they were a threat. In doing so they revealed the beautiful oak that lives right next door.

As a neighbor, you couldn’t do much better. It’s quiet, stays in it’s place, and never asks to borrow tools. It also helps with the electric bill by shading one whole side of the unit. Perfect.
