A Stand of Pines, Washington, CT

Further evidence that no two of us sees the same. In all my photographs of this stand of pines I had studiously excluded the two barn red structures as distractions. Susan, on the other hand, has made wonderful use of them to lend scale and just the right touch of accent color. Bravo.

Friend and fellow photographer Steven Willard shared this spot where he had made one of my all time favorite images — “Stone Wall” — which he posted on his blog some time back. The day I made this photo of pine trees, he was standing only a few feet away and made a completely different image. You can find his latest rendition, called “Old and Young,” at https://stevenwillardimages.wordpress.com/blog-2/   Hat’s off, Steve.
